Celebrate the Upcoming Hospital Hill Run at  The Westin Kansas City at Crown Center

 Participate in a 5K Fun Run in Anticipation of one of Kansas  City’s Most Challenging Runs

The Westin Kansas City at Crown Center is hosting two kick-off events in anticipation of the 2015 Hospital Hill Run.   Guests (runners and walkers) are invited to participate in a 5K fun run as a kick-off in celebration of the 42nd Annual Hospital Hill Run, which takes place June 5-6 and includes the UMKC School of Medicine 5K, 10K, half marathon or the Re-Run participants. Refreshments will be served, and giveaways at the event include a Garmin Forerunner, complimentary entry into Hospital Hill Run, free nights at The Westin and more.

Hospital Hill Run is the oldest road race in Kansas City, first held in 1974 with a field of 99 runners. Over the years, it’s grown in size and stature with more than 8,500 participants last year, including recognition by Runner’s World magazine as one of the top races in the country. As a long-standing Kansas City event, the run has kept up with the changing running community by altering the run’s distance, as well as adding premium items and electronic timing. The focus continues to be on the athletes’ experience as well as promoting a healthy lifestyle.

Past competitors include running legends such as as Olympic gold medalists Frank Shorter and Billy Mills, and running legends Bill Rodgers and Jim Ryun; not to mention, more than 100,000 Missouri and Kansas citizens. The Hospital Hill Run is a non-for-profit organization run by a Board of Directors, made up of members within the Kansas City business community,and Race Director.
